What is androgenic alopecia (AGA) or thinning hair?
Androgenic alopecia (AGA) is the gradual (sometimes rapid) degeneration of hair follicles in the scalp. AGA is caused by the progressive, gradual shrinking of normal hair follicles that produce normal (terminal) hairs into miniaturised hair follicles that produce fine (vellus) hairs. The terminal-to-vellus hair ratio, normally 2:1 gradually reduces until it is reversed. To successfully treat AGA we need to reverse the hair follicle degeneration.
Dr McCaffery developed the Clearskincare Hair Restoration Programme, a simple programme of protocols for the Clearskincare Hair Restoration Pack consisting of the Clearskincare Skin & Scalp Roller and Clearskincare CP Hair Tonic. 1. In the morning cleanse scalp and hair normally
2. Apply your Clearskincare Skin & Scalp Roller onto the area of thinning hair and start rolling it back and forth. Keep rolling for approximately 2 - 3 minutes.
3. Apply 1ml of 5% Minoxidil onto the area just rolled, massage gently into the scalp.
4. When Minoxidil has absorbed, shake your Clearskincare CP Hair Tonic, spray onto and massage into your scalp.
5. In the evening, shake the Clearskincare CP Hair Tonic, spray onto and massage into your scalp.

How does it work?

Does it hurt?
The needles of the Clearskincare Skin & Scalp Roller are long enough to assist in the penetration of Minoxidil, but will not damage the scalp in anyway. The Clearskincare Skin & Scalp Roller can also be safely used with transplanted hair. It is normal for the scalp to be a little sensitive when scalp rolling is first commenced, but most people report no problems after 1 week. Always use the Clearskincare’s Skin & Scalp Roller gently at first, increasing the pressure on the roller as you become accustomed to the sensation of scalp rolling.
